Calling all Union bloggers! I need your help
Do you want to blog, but don’t have to time to run one all by yourself? Well’s, here is your chance. Leave a comment below, and I will email you an invitation. You will be allowed to register and blog from here the latest news and opinions of the workering man. The will, at first, be moderated until it is assured that the blogger is pro-union, but after that, no censure will take place. Let’s build this thing together.
Why so slow?
It seems that it takes Google some time to pick up a new blog. I do not want to waste a great deal of time posting articles if they are not going to be picked up. I will most likely post a few on Saturday. We shall see.
Welcome to Union News!
Welcome to Union News, which I hope will be a clearing house of news of the labor front. I was an organizer for the United Mine Workers of America for several years and although I am no longer in that great organization, I have decided to go ahead and began again talking about the need for organized Labor.
I will cover all Unions, even international organizations that are fighting for the rights of workers. If need be, I will take the Unions to task if I see something not right. I will attempt to have a fair and open comment policy – more on that later – as opposed to what the AFL-CIO has done on their blog.
Speaking of the AFL-CIO, I don’t like them. I don’t care for Change to Win either, considering that they tried to split the labor movement in a time when we needed solidarity.
I supported President-Elect Obama for President and I have high hopes that he will fulfill his promises to organized labor, especially in passing the Employee Free Choice Act.
